Abstract
482,165. Oil engines. DAIMLERBENZ AKT.-GES. Feb. 15, 1937, No. 4478. Convention date, Jan. 29. [Class 7 (iii)] At low speeds fuel is injected directly through a central passage o at the mouth of a precombustion chamber b into the main combustion space a by a fuel jet having a small jet angle or a particularly penetrating core, while at higher speeds it is prevented from entering the space a by the oppositely directed air flow from the cylinder. The passage o which. is flared from the precombustion chamber to the main combustion space may be stepped along its length. Specification 449,279 is referred to.
