Abstract
480,695. Hair - curling appliances. GOODMAN, J. Aug. 25, 1936, No. 23342. Convention date, Oct. 4, 1935. [Class 131] A hair-curler comprises a flexible tube 10 upon which the hair is to be wound, a pliable wire hair clamping member 14 attached to and projecting outwardly from the tube and adapted to be bent lengthwise against the tube to clamp the ends of the hair thereon prior to winding, and a locking member e.g. two pliable wire arms 15 secured to the tube and adapted to extend across the hair wound thereon to fasten the curler in place in the hair. The tube 10 may be of soft rubber and is preferably perforated at 11 to facilitate drying of the hair. The clamping and locking members may be braided wire loops made from a single length or separate pieces secured by a staple 16 to the tube. In a modification, Fig. 5, the locking member consists of a rubber band 21 stapled at 23 to the tube and having at its free end a tip 24 which is inserted into the other end of the tube.
