Abstract

Calcium sulphate plasters, of the anhydrite or hemihydrate type, include Balsa wood, as sawdust or chips. The proportion by weight of Balsa wood may be from 2 to 20 per cent. The product is lightweight and fire-resistant, and may be cast or moulded, e.g. into plaster board, i.e. sheet plaster faced on one or both sides with wood pulp board, or sprayed.
