478,099. Removing scale from metals. SCHLOEMANN AKT.-GES. April 6, 1937,. No. 9824. Convention date, April 22, 1936. [Class 83 (iv)] A rolled metal billet or bloom B is freed from scale by passing it through a pair of rolls- 1 inclined to the direction of movement of the work. This is fed by a roller table 7 and inclined rollers 8 which are grooved and pressed together by springs, lateral movement being prevented by a wall 9 equipped with rollers 10. In a modification the billet is fed in an upright position, the rollers 10 in this case supporting it.
