Abstract
478,070. Mining-machines. MINING ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and MOORE, M. S. July 20, 1936, No. 20023. [Class 68 (i)] In a loading-machine for mines with an outwardly projecting loading device comprising a loader bar and a conveyer alongside thereof, a pivotally mounted shearing device is arranged at the end of the loader frame and in operative position extends across the end of the conveyer, while when inoperative it is adapted to be swung into alignment with the conveyer. The loader frame is pivoted at 6 and carries a conveyor 4 and a comb 30 co-operating with a loader bar 5. A cutter-chain jib 8 is carried by a bearing 12 adjustable by worm and toothed sector 26 in a bracket 7, the chain being driven by shaft 13 or 13<1> through shaft 15 and flexible couplings 16, 16<1>, while the other shaft 13 or 13<1> drives the conveyer and loader bar. The chain jib is held in operative position by a lug 17 on bracket 7 bolted to the loader frame, and an arm 19 pivoted on a pin 20 ; on releasing the lug 17, the chain jib may be swung into alignment with the conveyer and locked by an angle piece connecting the lug 17 and loader frame. Cutter disks 23 may be provided at each side of the chain jib and driven by the cutter chain. The chain jib, bracket 7 and loader bar are reversible for loading in either direction. The shearing device may be used with a machine for simultaneous cutting and loading or with a machine with two loader bars. Specification 421,114, [Group XXX], is referred to.
