Abstract

477,937. Roofing - tiles. LUDOWICI, W. Jan. 11, 1937, No. 858. [Class 87 (i)] An interlocking roofing-tile of the kind laid fourfold at each corner has draining grooves formed by ribs 3, 5 and 4, 12 on its upper face and ribs 8, 19 on its lower face which interlock with the ribs 3, 5 of a tile underneath; the rib 8 enters a recess 9 and the rib 19 engages behind a rib 7. The ribs 4, 12 and the groove 14 therebetween comprise several levels. 4a, 12a, 14a, 4b, 12b, 14b and 4c, 12c, 14c; water outlets 15a, 15b, 17 are provided in the rib 12, the outlet 17 being one or more steps. Small grooves 20 may be provided adjacent the rib 12. An outlet 6 is provided in the rib 5. A rib on the under side of the lower edge of the tile is cut away to co-operate with a projection 13 of an adjacent tile. The portion 16 of the tile may be horizontal to co-operate with the horizontal lower edge of the arched portion 2, or it may be partly horizontal and partly vertical and/or inclined to co-operate with a corresponding edge on the portion 2. A groove 22 may be formed in the portion 16.
