Abstract
476,630. Switch bases. ROUTLEDGE, H. A. June 9, 1936, No. 16064. [Class 38 (v)] Means for mounting switches in wall boxes comprise a split ring 1 having a rounded surface and having lugs 2 to which a switch 6 can be fixed by means of screws 10. The ring is inserted into a closely fitting wall box 5 and placed in such a position that the cover plate 7 is correctly positioned on the wall 11. The plate 7 is then removed without disturbing the ring 1 which is then expanded to grip the sides of the wall box by means of a screw 3 and conical nut 4 engaging the split 14 of the ring 1. The ring 1 may be turned so that the lugs 2 are on the outward face to allow for a deeper mounting of the box 5.
