Abstract
<PICT:0475342/III/1> <PICT:0475342/III/2> For effecting reactions with catalytically active wire gauze arrange transversely to the flow of reactants, the gauze is supported on one or both sides by wires or other supports which are kept stretched by automatically acting devices such as springs or weights. Figs. 2 and 3 show devices, actuated by spring and weights respectively, applied to the end of the supporting wire A which projects through the wall of the reaction chamber. In another embodiment a simple helical spring surrounding the wire is used.
