Abstract

473,830. Moulding bobbins &c. JONES, W. A., and AMALGUM PRODUCTS, Ltd. May 6, 1937, No. 12912. [Class 87 (ii)] Bobbins and other articles having flanges 4b, 5b at both ends of a connecting barrel are moulded in two transversely-separated parts 4a, 5a, each having a flange and a part of the barrel, one being formed with a spigot 4c and the other with a socket 5c for connection of the two parts in axial alignment. The spigot and socket may be screwthreaded or they may taper and wedge or they may be coated with cement for securing together. A mould for each separate part comprises two dies 6, 9 providing a hole 7 and recess 8 between them. A core 10 may be fitted to the die 9. The spigot and socket may be formed by a removable block 11 having a projection or recess accordingly. The projection and recess may be formed on and in a reversible member inserted in the block 11. The bobbin may be moulded from synthetic resin, which may be in powder form, or from wood pulp, fibre or papier mÔchÚ.
