473,808. Cooling-mixtures. STRATMANN, H., and WERNER, F. G., (trading as KUHLSOLE - WERK STRATMANN & WERNER). Oct. 31, 1936, No. 29658. [Class 29] [Also in Group XVIII] Salt solutions for use as cooling-mixtures, radiator liquids, &c. are rendered non-corrosive by the addition thereto or formation therein of emulsions of the solutions with substances such as asphalt and benzol, oils, oil and glycerine, tar and soap, the disperse phase being stabilized by substances such as naphthalene sulphonic acid, resin soaps, sodium silicate, sulphite cellulose liquor, tannin and starch, &c., which substances may also act as emulsifiers. Separate substances to act as emulsifiers and stabilizers respectively may be used. In an example in which a salt solution and tallow soap are emulsified, the latter also acts as emulsifier and stabilizer, tannin and starch being added as augmentative stabilizers. The salt solutions specified comprise calcium chloride, magnesium chloride separately or in admixture, sodium chloride and ammonium carbonate respectively.
