Abstract

472,841. Infants' cots and seats. ELLISON, J. W., (trading as ELLISON, J. P., [Firm of]), and HEYES, T. April 1, 1936, No. 9587. [Class 52 (ii)] In an infant's cot of the kind comprising a box like structure 5, Fig. 1, a section 11 is adapted to be lowered in relation to the middle portion, to form a leg and foot support for an infant in a sitting position. The body of the cot is made of leather, canvas, or the like, stiffened by insertions of ply-wood or metal. Handles 9 are provided. The section 11 is hinged to the body of the cot at the base, and is connected thereto by gussets 13 at the sides, so that it can be lowered as shown in Fig. 2. A transverse strap 15 and a back rest 17, normally folded flat on the bottom of the cot, may be provided. A folding stand may be used to support the cot. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the head portion 21 is divided from the sides and base and hinged so that it may be turned under the middle portion 12 to support it.
