472,368. Baths. BRIGGS MANUFACTURING CO. Jan. 6, 1937, No. 384. Convention date, Jan. 7, 1936. [Class 26] A bath comprises a basin having a bottom and upright side-walls pressed, preferably seamlessly, from a single metal sheet, and an upright metal panel C, secured to the tub and concealing at least one of said walls. The bath has a flange 13 extending outwardly along the sides of the bath and extended at 15 to form a seat, a rolled rim 16, 17 along the side or sides concealed by the panel C, and along the other side or sides a raised shelf 18 for supporting wall tiles and an upstanding rim 23 adapted to extend behind them. That portion of the flange 13 forming the seat 15 is reinforced by members 24, and the panel C is secured to the rim 16 by bolting a flange 38 on the panel to angle-brackets 37 welded to the rim, sleeves 41 of rubber &c. being associated with the bolt and a rubber tube 42 being interposed between the rim and panel to lessen noise and form a seal. The panel is also secured to the vertical flange of an angle iron 43 braced by struts such as 44, secured to saddles B which are bolted to brackets 4, the saddles being shaped to provide feet 34 and to accommodate the bolts, to which access may be gained through apertures. The ends of the panel are provided with gussets 28 welded to the underside of the flange 13.
