Abstract

472,199. Metal sheets and joints. FORGES DE STRASBOURG. Sept. 25, 1936, No. 26070. Convention date, Nov. 18, 1935. [Class 20 (ii)] Metal panels for use in constructing partitions, wall coverings, pontoons, and the like, are formed with plane or corrugated surfaces and are provided with interfitting edge portions which are locked together without the use of rivets, bolts, or like fastenings. One edge of the plate is formed with a recess by bending the metal back upon itself, as at 10, Fig. 1, to form a gutter 4 the lip 6 of which is sufficiently spaced from the double edge 10 to provide an opening for the curved edge 3 of the adjacent panel, the edges being interengaged by relative rotation of the panels. The gutter 4 terminates in a transverse flange portion 5, by which transverse plates 9 may be connected to form a hollow structure as shown in Fig. 3.
