[Class 34 (ii)] A process for drying ceramic products consists in subjecting the products to two or more stages of drying, each stage comprising two periods, in the first of which the products are placed in a ventilated atmosphere, and in the second of which the products are placed in a calm atmosphere. The humidity decreases from period to period in the ventilated atmosphere while in the periods of calm atmosphere the degree of humidity is substantially constant, for example, 90 per cent. The products may be carried on wagonettes through tunnels, and the position of the wagonettes or products may be capable of reversal to ensure uniform heating.
