[Class 39 (i)] A number of cathodes are mounted in the same support and preferably in a plane at right-angles to the axis of the tube, and are so arranged that the beams unite in a single spot on the fluorescent screen. The cathodes may each be provided with a separate concentrating cylinder, anode and deflecting plates, or as shown in Fig. 2, cathodes C<1>, C<2>, C<3> may be provided with a common concentrating cylinder D, which may then have a common end as shown, a common anode E and common deflecting plates F. Or some of the controlling and deflecting electrodes may be common to the various cathodes and others separate.
