Abstract
469,122. Printers' composing - appliances. HOE & CO., Ltd., R. (Hoe & Co., Inc., R.) Jan. 25, 1936, No. 2425. [Class 100 (iii)] Chases; quoins.- In a chase having clamping-members to engage the sides of the forme, which are moved by quoinmembers provided with a common operating-device, means are provided for applying a resilient clamping-pressure to the quoinmembers The chase 37 is fitted with sliding quoins 38, 39, connected together by a pair of links 43, 46, which form a toggle. The toggle can be straightened by means of a second toggle composed of links 47, 51, the link 51 being pivoted to a plunger 55, against which abuts a spring 57. The link 47 is formed with notches for the application of a key or wrench for straightening the toggles. The quoin-members 38, 39 bear against clamping- bars 62, 62<1>, formed with co-operating inclines.
