Abstract
468,711. Buffers for furniture. RENDLE, V. Jan. 15, 1936, No. 1256. [Class 52 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] Rubber or like resilient edgings or coverings for the rims of bins, pails, baths, churns, &c. are formed with one or both sides e, Fig. 3, or e, e<2>, Fig. 7, of chamfered or tapered form the part which is to be against the vessel being of concave configuration as y, Fig. 3, before application thereto, and a channel or slot n, n<1>, for the reception of a securing wire &c. being provided at or about the root of the tapered part, the channel in Fig. 3 having a lip l provided to seal it and conceal the wire. Fig. 8 shows how a similar covering may be applied to a handle &c. h of fluted or of any other desired sectional form. The invention is stated to be applicable also in the attachment of similar coverings to bowl stands, operating tables, cabinets and like articles for surgical use.
