Abstract
468,345. Clip fastenings; radiator covers. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Jan. 21, 1937, No. 1807. Convention date, Feb. 24, 1936. [Class 44] [Also in Group XIII] A clip fastening particularly for securing a cover 1 to the bars 3 of a motor-car radiator is assembled in swivelling engagement with an attaching part 6 which may be secured to the cover, as by means of clinched prongs 10, Figs. 4, 5. Member 6 has a pair of apertures 8 through which the limbs of the clip are passed so that the cross-bar 9 between apertures 8 rests in the bend 11 of the clip, which may be bulged as shown. The limbs of the clip shown have shoulders 14, 15 at different distances from the diverging free ends 12, 13 to allow use with bars 3 of different depths. The above arrangement allows the clip to take up an angular position with respect to the cover when used with bars disposed as in Fig. 2. Fig. 13 shows an arrangement in which member 6 is in the form of a cap secured to the cover 1 by a separate or integral eyelet 22.
