Abstract

468,267. Nesting seats. SCHADLER, F. A. March 27, 1936, No. 9219. Convention date, March 27, 1935. [Class 52 (ii)] Stackable chairs have a rearwardly inclined back 3 and laterally inclined legs 2 and are provided with horizontal supporting members 9 secured to the feet 1. When such chairs are stacked each chair nests with its feet 1 on the supporting members 9 of a lower chair, the supporting members being channel-shaped and having projections provided thereon to cooperate with recesses in the feet with which they make contact so that sliding is prevented. The members 9 of each chair may be formed integral with its feet 1 or may be pivotally secured thereto at 16 (Fig. 7) and shaped as shown so that they may be raised to support the legs 2 when the chair is in use. A transverse member may be provided between the feet 1 or the members 9.
