Abstract
467,561. Fluid-pressure servomotorcontrol systems. PESCARA, R. P. Oct. 14, 1935, No. 28334. Convention date, Oct. 15, 1934. [Class 135] [Also in Group XXVI] In a power plant made up of a constant pressure gas generator and a consuming machine e.g. a turbine, regulation is carried out by a device for controlling the pressure in the compresser together with means dependent upon a working factor of the consuming machine for regulating the supply of a working fluid. In an arrangement for carrying this out, Fig. 3, the oil pressure in line 34 is controlled through a relay 33 by the governor 10. As the turbine speeds up the pressure in line 34 rises and causes a spring loaded piston to open valve 43 which lowers the quantity of air delivered to the turbine. The reverse happens when the machine slows down. The supply 34 to the loaded pistons 4<2> and 4<1> is controlled by a valve attached to a rod 28 which is only open when the pressure above the spring loaded valve 26 is down to a predetermined value. This pressure is controlled by the pressure in the discharge line of the preceding generator. This device is not fitted to the last generator brought into action, so that valve 4<3> is controlled by the governor only. When the speed rises and valve 4<3> is fully opened, the pressure in line 3<3> falls and line 34 is connected to the operating piston of valve 4<2> which is then under direct control of the governor. The starting and stopping of the generators 1<2> and 1<3> is carried out automatically by the pressure in pipes 25<2> and 25<3> controlled from the discharge line of the preceding generator. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also a modification in which a variable feed generator is used. If the load varies the speed of the machine 2, Fig. 3 (Cancelled) varies, the governor 10 acting through slide valve 20 and relay 19 alters the position of throttle valve 17 and generator fuel injection pumps 16 to suit. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
