Abstract
465,242. Wafer biscuits &c. PEEK FREAN & CO., Ltd., and RONDOLIN, L. Aug. 11, 1936, No. 22100. [Class 28 (i)] A creamed sandwich wafer is formed by a combination of flat or substantially flat and deeply ribbed or equivalently multi-recessed wafers interleaved so that contact is or may be made between them at relatively close intervals, cream filling being distributed in the welldefined separated zones or cells left between the wafers. In one form, Fig. 1, two flat wafers 1 are separated by a fluted or ribbed wafer 2 which may be of a different colour, the cream filling 3 on one side of wafer 2 being of a colour different from that of the filling 4 on the other side. In other forms, one or two flat wafers are used between two ribbed wafers, or two ribbed wafers, Fig. 9, between two flat wafers. In further forms, three flat wafers may be interleaved with two ribbed wafers, Fig. 11, or three ribbed wafers with two flat wafers. In place of ribs, the wafers may be formed with rectangular or circular depressions 5, Fig. 5, with corresponding protuberances 6 on the other side.
