Abstract

464,546. Closures for use with hypodermic syringes. WINTHROP CHEMICAL CO., Inc. June 12, 1936, No. 16486. Convention date, April 3. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] A closure for use with medicaments which are used in conjunction with a hypodermic syringe, comprises a tube 2 having a sharp pointed end. The tube is filled with an airfiltering medium and pierces the part 9 of the closure when pressed inwards. A small depression 11 locates a hole 7 suitable for the needle 15. In a modification, a screw cap is provided for the device and in a further modification, a simple rubber cap is pierced by both the tube 2 and the needle. The tube 2 may be of various types of metal, hard rubber, or synthetic resin.
