464,196. Ejecting and spraying apparatus. SIMONIN, R. F. Sept. 16, 1936, No. 25225. Convention date, Oct. 17, 1935. [Class 69 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] Apparatus for mixing and spraying two liquids such as a hydrocarbon for road dressing and a liquid containing a filler in suspension, comprises a tubular chamber A, Fig. 1, to which liquid under pressure is admitted through a branch 2 closed at its lower end by a centrally perforated diaphragm 7 surrounded by a spirally shaped chamber B into which the second liquid is tangentially led, and carrying at its outlet end a nozzle with a Venturi-shaped outlet C. The diaphragm 7 is held in place by a tubular cap 8 on which slides a tube 12 perforated at 13, which forms a slide valve for controlling the passage of liquid from the tangential chamber B. The tube 11 is attached to the Venturi-nozzle C and the perforations 13 are normally closed by a sleeve 11, but passage of liquid through the nozzle lowers the pressure and causes the tube to uncover the ports 13. A conical member 19, Fig. 3, may be mounted in the nozzle to distribute the atomized mixture. The filler may be carried in a vat mounted within a tank for the hydrocarbon mounted on a carriage provided with a pump for forcing the hydrocarbon to the nozzle.
