Abstract

464,158. Strainers. WATFORD ENGINEERING WORKS, Ltd., and BRAY, E. E. Dec. 17, 1935, No. 35035. [Class 46] In straining - machines for paper pulp and the like of the type having a strainer surface formed by a series of parallel rollers at slight distances apart, each roller is formed with annular peripheral projections which extend into annular grooves in the adjacent roller. Fig. 2 shows rollers with perpheral projections 22 separated by grooves 24. As shown in Fig. 5, peripheral rounded ribs 22 are separated by curved grooves 24, and as shown in Fig. 6, wider peripheral ribs 36 on one roller extend between narrower ribs 38 on the adjacent roller. The strainer may be provided with a spray pipe as described in Specification 420,196, [Group VIII]. Provision may be made for varying the distances between the rollers.
