462,617. Fluid - actuated valves. BENDIX, Ltd., and HARRISON, H. Oct. 31, 1935, No. 30052. [Class 135] A valve device for controlling the supply of air or other fluid under pressure to brake cylinders and the like has a single simple lift valve member 6 slidably mounted in a removable cap 2 to co-operate with a fixed seat 14 formed on a plate 11 held in position by a ported extension of the cap and with a movable seat 19 slidably mounted in a ported tubular guide 20 on the plate 11. The movable seat is formed integrally with a hollow spindle 17 slidable in a manually operable plunger 5 and formed with a collar secured to a bellows 26 carried by a detachable member encircling the plunger 5. When the plunger 5 is moved inwards a spring 24 encircling the spindle 17 is compressed to move the seat 19 into contact with the valve member, and move it off the fixed seat. This action closes the connection between the brake cylinder and exhaust through passage 22 and hollow spindle 17 and establishes a connection between the pressure inlet 16 and the brake cylinder through port 23. As pressure builds up in the brake cylinder it acts on the bellows 26 to compress the spring 24 so permitting the valve to engage the fixed seat and interrupt the pressure supply.
