Abstract

462,517. Loom change-box motions. PERCIVAL, S. (Sõchsische Webstuhlfabrik) Aug. 14, 1936, No. 22465. [Class 142 (iii)] Each lifter wheel or mutilated pinion 5 of a change-box motion has two starting teeth 7, 8 arranged in different planes on a looped member 9 that can be rocked about an axis, at right angles to that of the pinion shaft 4, to bring one or other of the teeth into the plane of the pinion and the driving wheel 2. The teeth are controlled by a pin 17 which, when projected through the pinion 5 and its associated eccentric 11 by a pattern controlled disc 18, moves the tooth 7 into line with the driver 2 against the action of a spring 16 adapted to maintain the tooth 8 in operative position. In a modification the teeth 7, 8 are arranged in line and the pivot therefor spaced from the lift wheel 5.
