Abstract
462,259. Endless - belt conveyers. USKSIDE ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and WOOD, J. W. Oct. 22-, 1935, No. 29178. [Class 78 (i)] The side members of an endless-belt conveyer comprise upper and lower plates 5 and 6, the upper plates supporting the edges of the upper run of the belt 2 at an inclination, and the inner flanges 10 of the lower plates having bearing slots for the supporting rollers 11 of the upper run, the upper and lower plates being relatively so arranged, e.g. by providing the flanges 10 on the lower plates to overlap inwardly of inner flanges 8 of the upper plates, that material filtering past the upper run of the belt is thrown clear of the return run, and material is prevented from being accidentally thrown directly on to the lower run. In Fig. 2, upper and lower plates 5 and 6 are joined together at each end by webs 14 having pins, 15 by which they are supported in slots in stools 4. In Figs. 3 and 4, upper and lower plates are supported independently, the upper plates 5 having pins 15 at either end supported in slots in the stools 4, and the lower plates 6 being welded to U-shaped members 17 having pins 18 supported in further slots in the stools.
