461,297. Tipping - vehicles ; draught arrangements. TOMKINS, J. W. Nov. 22, 1935, No. 32385. [Classes 108 (i) and 108 (ii)] A tip cart is provided with detachable draught shafts which can be adjusted relatively to the body in various angular positions and releasably locked therein. The body 4 is provided with a pair of wheels 23 about the axle 22 of which the cart is adapted to tip. Mounted on the front of the body on vertical battens 2 is a pair of semicircular members 1 provided with slots 6, circular bolt holes 7a and a larger slot 7. The draught shafts 8 are interconnected bv members 9 and by a pivot bar 19 adapted to engage brackets 20 on the vertical battens 2 and to be releasably locked thereto by latches 21. Pivoted on one of the shafts 8 is a plate lever 11, the longer arm of which is provided with a handle 12 and is also linked to a bolt 13, while the shorter arm is connected by a link 17 with a bolt 16 The bolts 13, 16 are adapted to pass through brackets 14, 15 and enter the apertures in the members 1 to fix the shafts. When the shafts are fixed in the travelling position shown in Fig. 2, abutment stops 18 are bolted to the members 1 to transmit the weight of the forward part to the brackets 14, 15. The bolts 13, 16 are normally urged to operative position by a spring 24. When the body is tipped to position shown in Fig. 4, the bolts 13, 16 are engaged in slots 7 and the vehicle may be drawn along the ground with its wheels off the ground.
