Abstract
458,958. Pipe joints. PLATTE, C., 18, Arnulfstrasse, Oberkassel, Dusseldorf, Germany. Dec. 20, 1935, No. 35377. [Class 99 (i)] In a pipe joint having a rolled-in packing ring 7 the socket end of the pipe has three sections of different diameter increasing outwardly, the spigot fitting in the middle section and the packing ring in the outer section, the ring being confined between the shoulders 9, 10 on the spigot and socket. The socket may be flanged inwardly at 3a to provide a recess for locking wedges or an expanding ring 8.
