Abstract

458,641. Two-part couplings; plugboards. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. March 13, 1936, No. 7693. Convention date, March 18, 1935. [Class 38 (i)] A distribution panel for television &c. cables comprises a number of cable heads 11 each carrying a pair of sockets 28 located at right angles to the axis of the cable 14 so as to allow variable interconnection by means of flexible links 12 carrying plug contacts 29. Each angular cable head is built up of elements 22, 23, the connection of the cable core 16 to the socket 28 being made at a point on the oblique plane of junction of the elements,. and a screening shield 24, 25 being insulated therefrom and connected to the cable screen 17. The link 12 consists of a cable 18 surrounded by a flexible screen 20, each cable core 19 being connected to a plug contact 29 and the screen being connected to a casing 30 that abuts against the shield 25 when the plug 29 is inserted in the socket 28 and secured by a bayonet fastening member 31.
