Abstract
457,228. Conveyers. KOHN, P., 122, Lehmstatte, Br³nn, Czecho Slovakia. Oct. 12, 1935, No. 28239. [Class 78 (i)] [See also Group V] In apparatus for producing hollow bricks in which a rod of clay from an extrusion press 1, Fig. 1, is cut into pieces on a cutting table on which it passes over rollers 2 and a conveyer band 5 and from which the pieces are transferred to a boring machine and then to a discharge conveyer 37, 38, the transfers are effected by a lifting device consisting of a carriage 20, Fig. 4, running on wheels 18 on a pair of bars 14 and having rails 23 which simultaneously remove a bored-out piece to the discharge conveyer 37, 38 and take a fresh piece from the cutting mechanism to the boring machine. The carriage 20 is reciprocated by connection by a rod 21 to a crank 22 secured to a shaft 8 which is rotated under control of the cutting mechanism. A lifting motion is simultaneously imparted to the carriage 20 and rails 23 by the rocking against action of a spring 171 of a pivoted frame 13, which carries the bars 14, by the engagement with a roller 15 thereon of an eccentric 17 mounted on shaft 8.
