Abstract

457,083. Treatment of growing plants. STELZEL, O., 6, M³hlenstrasse, Schwabach, Bayern, Germany. April 3, 1936, No. 9951. Convention date, Sept. 7, 1935. [Class 6 (ii)] Apparatus for water ing or fertilizing the roots of trees, &c comprises a numbe of tubular spikes 2 pro vided with lateral out lets 3 in their lowe parts and connected together to form a battery of spikes adap ted to be forced into the ground and movable relatively to each other by means of interposed jointed or flexible connecting pipes 7<1>, the battery being fed from a common supply pipe 7. The spikes are provided with screwoff tips 1 and with stop cocks 6 interposed between them and T-shaped branches 61 forming handles and connecting pieces. Water may be supplied from the mains or from an elevated container such as a water cart. A force pump may be employed. The common supply pipe may be connected to a distributer pipe or container provided with a number of outlet connection pieces to which the individual spikes are joined by movable or flexible pipes.
