Abstract

456,190. Pistons. LIGHT PRODUCTION CO., Ltd., and BROOKS, C. H., 60, Rochester Row, Westminster. Sept. 10, 1935, No. 25139. [Class 122 (i)] A piston comprises a thin outer shell a of cast iron or steel and an inner member c of aluminium, or other high conductivity metal, connected by a ball-andsocket joint b to the connecting rod. The joint may be of the kind described in Specification 372,910. The member c may be cast or screwthreaded into the shell. Alternatively, the upper portion may carry piston rings engaging the inner piston wall, the lower portion d being screw threaded into the piston shell.
