Abstract

452,800. Electric hot-plates. SIMPLEX ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and DAVIS, P. W., 159, Great Charles Street, Birmingham. March 6, 1935, No. 7059. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric boiling-plate includes at least three heating elements 10 so arranged on the plate that the latter is heated substantially uniformly over its entire surface, both when a single element is connected in circuit, and when any combination of elements is so connected, said elements being arranged for connection in circuit to give at least four different heats including a series connection giving a low simmering heat. The elements may be arranged as interlaced flat spirals as shown in Fig. 4. The heating wires are embedded in plastic material in grooves in the hot plate 8. This plate is mounted on a supporting frame 18 by screws which enable the plate to be levelled. The bottom part of the plate is provided with a dish shaped cover 15. The frame 18 is supported by a bar 35 and a block 33 containing sockets for the current supply pins of the heating elements.
