Abstract
452,596. Valves. TELCO PRODUCTS, Ltd., and TELCO, P., 6, Gordon Square, London. March 15, 1935, No. 8123. [Class 135] An indicator for use with valves in which the valve member is actuated by a screwed spindle 3 co-operating with a screw-thread in the casing, is combined with the hand wheel or valve operating member 1 and is actuated by the vertical movement of the operating - member 1 away from or towards the valve body. This movement is transmitted by a rod 7, which is secured to a member 2 loosely mounted on the spindle 3 and held against the gland nut 4 by a spring 6, a lever 9, and gearing 16, 17 to a spindle 18 of pointer 20. The pointer 20 moves over a graduated dial 21 to indicate the amount the valve is open. Instead of a pointer a transparent coloured disc 23, Fig. 3, may co-operate with a dial 24, a sectorshaped opening 27 being provided in the disc 23 to allow it to pass through a radial slit 25 in the dial 24 so that a portion of the disc is hidden from view, the amount remaining exposed corresponding to the amount of opening of the valve.
