Abstract
451,193. Pumps ; two-stroke engines. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES., Untert³rkheim, Stuttgart, Germany. Nov. 5, 1935, No. 30602. Convention date, Nov. 5, 1934. Drawings to Specification. [Class 7 (ii)] At normal engine speeds the outflow of exhaust gases is relied on to induce scavenging and charging air, but is supplemented at starting and low speeds by a blower. The exhaustinduced air may pass through the blower, which then rotates idly, or may byepass it through additional inlets controlled by piston-movement or by flap-valves. The blower may be driven by the starting motor, the current through which is dependent on a rheostat controlled by a centrifugal governor, or the fuel-supplypedal.
