Abstract

451,052. Electric hot-plates. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and IDE, G. H., c/o General Electric Co., Ltd., Landor Street, Birmingham. March 4, 1935, No. 6737. [Class 39 (iii)] A hot-plate comprising a rigid top-plate 1 with heated elements in a cavity on the underside, is provided with a sealing member 4 with a flange 2 entering a groove 8 on the underside of the plate to form a liquid-tight joint. The groove is machined or may be formed during casting and filled with refractory material and the sealing member is pressed tightly in the groove by means of a nut 6 on bolt 7. Specification 14469/14, [Class 39 (iii)], is referred to.
