[Class 83 (iii)] [See also Group XXIII] In a vertical sawing-machine the work is moved manually over the table towards the saw, the table being so freely rotatable about the cutting edge of the saw as to follow any rotary movement of the work. A circular table top a, which is provided with grooves a<2> is mounted by ball bearings b on a pedestal top c, the underside of which has a boss g provided with bolt holes g<1> by. which it is secured to the top of a swivel mounting of normal construction. A retaining ring h is secured to a flange a<1> on the top a ; the top can be clamped against rotation by a wedge j<1> actuated by a screw j. A disc e having a passage f for the saw is removably mounted in the top a. The Provisional Specification refers also to slotting and filing machines.
