450,805. Cables. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. Dec. 4, 1935, No. 33621. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1934. [Class 36] In a high-tension cable comprising a stranded conductor 1 having impregnated fibrous insulation 3 enclosed in a sheath 4 the insulation is separated from the conductor by a layer 2 which is impervious to impregnating compound and consists of a mixture of polymerized acrylic acid, or its derivatives or homologues, with a softener and a conductive material. A suitable mixture consists of polymers of acrylic acid ethyl ester, diphenyl chloride and metal powder or graphite. The sheath 4 may be of lead or polymerized acrylic acid. Specification 175,753, [Class 36], is referred to.
