[Class 80 (i)] In a V-driving-belt comprising strips of leather of different widths secured together the ends of the leather strips are scarfed at e and interfitted to form a staggered spliced joint. The strips may be provided with a series of rivet-holes g near their ends, or throughout their lengths, so that the belt can be shortened by a distance equal to the spacing of the holes, or a multiple thereof, without making fresh holes. The plies may be sewn together.
