450,632. Artificial pearls. SCHERMAN, E., 49, Westliche Karl Friedrichstrasse, Pforzheim, Germany. Dec. 5, 1935, No. 33719. [Class 43] An artificial pearl comprises upper and lower parts, e.g. (hemispheres), a, b of opalized glass, the upper part a being coated with an iridescent substance c, such as fish silver essence. The two parts are secured together by a layer h of water-proof and heat-proof cement. A pin i, which holds the pearl on a piece of jewellery k is secured in bores d, e in the two parts by cement, or it may be threaded, engaging a female thread in the bore d, or in both bores. The part a may be formed with a central boss n, which enters.a recess o in part b.
