Abstract
449,878. Dynamo lamps. MILLER, F. J., 9, Stonehouse Road, Sutton Coldfield, and MILLER, N. V., Monarch Works, Aston Brook Street, Birmingham. Jan. 4, 1935, No. 291. [Class 39 (ii)] In a dynamo lighting-set for pedal and other cycles, of the type wherein the armature spindle is driven by contact with one of the road wheels, the dynamo casing a is provided with a detachable endcover b which incorporates a housing for a lamp bulb d<1> and a terminal e adapted to be connected to a separate lamp by an external cable f, and which encloses means c mounted outside the end of the casing for making connection between the bulb and terminal and the windings of the dynamo. In the example, the connecting means c comprises a copper strip secured by screws and insulating washers upon the end of the dynamo casing and arranged so that its ends make contact with the lamp bulb d<1> and terminal e respectively. The end cover b may be made of metal or insulating material; if the latter, an earth return through the dynamo casing is provided by a metal ring inserted between the end cover and casing, with an ear or extension to make contact with tne outside of the cap of the rear lamp bulb d<1>.
