[Class 59] In a disc mill the fixed disc is flat and the rotating ring is provided with arcuate grooves struck from a centre lying within the disc, both the grooves and corresponding ribs increasing in width toward the circumference and the grooves forming an acute angle with the internal and external circumference. The lower fixed stone 1, Fig. 3, has a flat face and the upper rotary stone 2 is provided with curved grooves 6 of triangular shape, Fig. 5, and ribs 4, the ribs and grooves increasing in width toward the circumference of the stone and forming acute angles with the inner and outer periphery of the stone as shown in Fig. 1. The upper stone is mounted on the driving shaft 12 by a spider 18 and recesses are formed in the stones to house a throwing device 10. The inner edge of the upper stone is chamfered at 17 to provide a lead-in for the feed thrown off by the distributer 10.
