[Class 108 (i)] In trolleys a lifting arrangement operable by means of the trolley handle to grip and lift the load on to the edge of, and to draw it on to, the trolley, consists of a plate or the like movably connected to the handle and having its other end resting on the trolley. In one form the trolley comprises a frame 3 with lower riding rollers 4, 5, 6, and upper rollers 7, 8 for the load. A handle pivoted at 20 is provided with a plate 11 bent at 14 and provided with a toe 13 which in the position shown in Fig. 1, is forced under the load 1. Movement of the handle 10 causes the plate to fulcrum round the roller 7 and draw the load on to the trolley, the plate 11 eventually riding over the rollers 7, 4 and falling down inside the frame 3 on to the transverse rod 9. Movement of the trolley causes it to be pushed under the load and the projection 15 on the handle 10 enters the notch 16. To grip the load during transit a knife edge projection 18 is provided and caused to enter the base of the load by movement of the projection 15 into notch 17, a slot 19 riding on the handle pivot 20 allowing this. In another form a hook 21 engages a loop 34 on the load and movement of the handle 22 pulls the load 33 on to the edge of the trolley by means of wedges 32, a roller 31 on the handle extension causing the front end of the trolley to contact with the ground. As the handle is moved so the trolley assumes its normal position.
