[Class 17 (ii)] An insole comprises a plurality of wood veneers 1, provided on both sides with a yieldable covering 2 such as leather and interconnected with a water-insoluble adhesive such as nitrocellulose, the insole being reduced in thickness longitudinally from the middle towards both ends, and intermediate layers 3 of fibrous material, preferably impregnated with nitrocellulose or the like, being arranged between the wood veneers and the covering 2. The veneers 1 are joined so that the grains of superposed veneers are at right angles and are shaped to the foot. The insole is bent upwardly at both sides being higher on the inner side 9. Depressions 7, 8 for the ball and heel of the foot, and perforations 11 are provided. Specification 362,307, [Group VI], is referred to.
