[Classes 43 and 141] A slide formed with upper and lower transverse slots has a doubled portion of a strap threaded inwardly through the lower slot to form an adjusting loop, one end of the strap extending in superposition to the uppermost limb of the loop, the other end being extended through the upper slot. The slide comprises upper and lower transverse slots 1, 2. The dividing bar 3 may be raised out of the plane of the slide, and the outer edge of slot 1 serrated, as in Fig. 2, or both edges of the bar 3 may be serrated, Fig. 4, and apertures 7 formed in the end members of the slide. In a modification, Fig. 6, an additional slot 9 is provided, both the division bars are serrated along each edge and the ends 10 are overturned. The Figures show methods of threading the strap through the three buckles. A doubled adjusting loop 5 of the strap, is, in all cases, passed down through the slot 2, and the end 6, which is secured to the garment, lies above the loop 5, being stitched, if desired, to the upper limb 51 thereof. This stitching may also attach the strap to the garment. The slide may be attached to the garment by an auxiliary, and preferably elastic, strap, which is passed through the slot 2, the ends being brought together and secured to the garment.
