[Class 103 (i)] [See also Group XXIX] A hydraulic control system particularly for brakes comprises a source of pressure liquid adapted to be connected to the brakes &c. by a pressure regulator which establishes a pressure dependent upon the pressure applied to the regulator. A reservoir 1 of liquid under gas pressure is adapted to be connected to the pipe 4 leading to the brakes by a pressure regulator 6, the pressure in the pipe acting against a piston 5 so that according as this pressure is less or greater than that exerted by a spring 7 the piston moves to left or right to open a supply valve 9 or an exhaust valve 10. The pressure is applied to the spring by the pedal 16 and piston 13. The exhaust liquid flows by pipe 12 to the tank 3. When the pedal is in the release position a lever 14 engages the rod 17 of an additional exhaust valve to open a large passage. The regulator may be of the slide valve or other type and the pedal may be operated by a hydraulic or other telemotor. The reservoir 1 is supplied from the tank 3 by a pump 2.
