Abstract
442,329. Reamers. SUTTON, W. H., and SUTTON, H. G., 32, High Street, Northcote, Victoria, Australia. March 11, 1935, No. 7547. [Class 83 (iii)] A reaming or like tool has a spindle carrying longitudinally spaced-apart adjustable pilots or guides and reaming or cutting blades, said spindle having longitudinal channels with inclined planes upon which the blades and pilots are slidable simultaneously into positions which determine their working diameters, the pilots and cutters being held and spaced apart in the channels by collars having plain cylindrical interior surfaces which are a sliding fit on the cylindrical portions of the spindle. The radial cutting blades G, Fig. 2, are arranged intermediate radial guide blades E, E <1>, the three sets being simultaneously adjustable through the inclined bases of channels B <1> formed in the relatively adjustable spindle A. The blades and guides are spaced apart and retained in position by bevel-ended sleeves F, F<1>. Pilot blades and cutting blades may be integral and arranged to operate on a series of spaced holes simultaneously.
