Abstract
442,316. Endless - band conveyers. PEEK FREAN & CO., Ltd., and RONDOLIN, L., Keeton's Road, Bermondsey, London. Nov. 29, 1934, No. 34310. [Class 78 (i)] A conveyer for a biscuit-baking or like oven comprises an endless wire-mesh band 1, the operative run of which rests on an imperforate support 2, means, such as rods 4, 5, Fig. 2, or 4<a>, 4b, 5<a>, 5<b>, Fig. 4, being employed for separating, when rendered necessary by the character of the goods being baked, the band 1 from the support 2 over any desired length of the run. The support 2 may be constituted, as shown in Figs. 2, 4, by an endless steel band which frictionally drives the band 1, or by stationary plates 6, Fig. 8, movable into and out of position through slots 8 in the oven walls 9. A jockey pulley 2<a>, Fig. 4, may be provided for tensioning the band 2 after removal of the rods. In a further construction the support 2 is provided by the upper run of an endless band with which the lower run of a superposed endless wire-mesh conveyer can be brought into contact and from which it can be separated by rods 4, 5.
