Abstract

442,098. Fibrous-cement pipes. MAZZA, A., 8, Piazza Corridoni, Genoa, Italy. Oct. 20, 1934, No. 30111. Drawings to Specification. [Class 99 (ii)] A pipe of fibrous-cement &c. is provided with a socket by applying to the end of the pipe while the latter is still in a moist condition, or to intermediate points of a multiple-length pipe, a number of thin concentric layers of a mixture of fibrous cement. The operation is effected in a machine of the kind described in Specifications 225,543, 240,142, [both in Class 99 (ii)], and 373,240, but with the employment of mixture-applying belts of from 30-40 cm.. width instead of the normal 3-4 m. The socket is subjected to a variable or constant pressure during formation, and after hardening it is internally and externally turned to its final shape. Specification 159,832, [Class 87 (ii)], also is referred to.
